Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Here in Mobile, AL it has been a blah weekend...raining and storming! But when the weather is bad and I can't enjoy the sunshine at the beach, my next favorite place to be is in the kitchen baking like crazy! So what better way to brighten up the day than with some cupcakes of course! Today's recipe is for Brown-Sugar Vanilla cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream and a sprinkling of brown sugar on top.
I decided it would be fun to do some mini cupcakes this week. As you know by now typically the cupcakes I make are standard size, but I like to switch things up every now and then. The mini cupcakes are just so cute, you can't eat just one. As a matter of fact I just popped three in my mouth right after dinner a short while ago. Immediately after that I packed up a container full of them and walked directly over to my neighbor's house so I would quit stuffing my face!
I have been wanting to make these Brown-Sugar Vanilla Cupcakes since I first saw them over at Cheeky Kitchen back in December! I have been following Brooke's blog at Cheeky Kitchen for awhile now, and she definitely knows how to whip up a delicious batch of cupcakes. She has so many other recipes I am dying to try from breakfast to dinner entrees and everything else in between. I would love to be a guest at her house for dinner. Not only does she create treats for your sweet tooth but her blog is full of great stories about her family, incredible photography and a wide variety of cuisine that just makes my mouth water every time I see the latest recipes she posts! So if you have never been to Cheeky Kitchen click here and be prepared to look around for hours!

Cupcake Modifications:
#1 - I made them as mini cupcakes (yields 76)
#2 - I sprinkled some brown sugar on top
