Cash's Crab Shack 1st Birthday

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was filled with lots of baking and finally getting the chance to go through some of my favorite pictures from one adorable birthday party I recently had the pleasure of working on. I got an email from Brandi, the mom of the birthday boy shortly after she saw the party I did for my little guys Mustache & Bow Tie theme 1st birthday bash on The TomKat Studio in May. Brandi gave me so many sweet compliments on Sam's party and asked if I would be willing to help with a dessert table for her little guy Cash's upcoming 1st birthday since what do you know we live in the same city! Of course I immediately responded with a big YES and through many emails back and forth we coordinated the sweets I would make with the party printables and designs she had planned for his special day. I was super excited when I found out the theme was all about crabs! I have been dying to work on a crab themed party and this was the perfect opportunity, 1st birthdays are just soooo much fun!

Brandi had purchased the Preppy Crab party printable package from Dimple Prints. Super cute right! I love the red and blue colors with the polka dots and stripe patterns. Brandi really used the printables as her inspiration to carry the design throughout all the party decorations. She really went all out on every single detail from the ADORABLE hand painted sign in the front yard, the favor table with sand pails for all the kids, crab coloring pages, and assorted candy cans on all the tables. You can definitely tell this little boy is loved so much by his mama! She did such an amazing job with all the decorations and I was so honored to be asked to help with the sweets. She requested some cookies, cupcakes and an aqua ombre cake with a crab topper!

I hope you all get some inspiration from this Crab Shack themed 1st birthday party. Enjoy!

Dessert Table & Sam - {Sneak Peak Party Week}

It's day 3 of Sneak Peak Party Week and I've decided to give you a teeny tiny glimpse of the dessert table. If you look closely behind the white chair's and "Sam is 1" blocks you can see the hints of aqua, lime and yellow serving pieces that will be used to display all the sweets! I know it's quite a tease, but you didn't think I was going to reveal the whole dessert table spread before the big party did you?

So instead I've included a few of my favorite photos from Sam's actual birthday on Monday. We started the day off right with a mini cupcake in bed at 7:00AM topped with a candle and the singing of Happy Birthday! Sam dove right in and loved every bite of his cupcake! Guess he'll be taking after me with his love of sweets and eating cupcakes for breakfast! I can't wait to see how he acts with his smash cake on Saturday!

For Sam's birthday we decided to give him a sandbox! He absolutely loves the beach. He has been to beaches in 3 different states so we decided to bring a piece of the beach to our backyard! I found the cutest Crab Sandbox at Amazon.com and just had to get this for Sam! Afterall, his nursery does have a touch of crab decor and his daddy loves to go crabbing in the Mobile Bay so it was a perfect fit for our little guy! As soon as we took the top off he was ready to play! I love all of his facial expressions in these pictures! Hope you enjoy!

Sam's Nursery

I have been getting a lot of emails lately from expecting moms about Sam's Nursery that was featured on Baby Lifestyles last year. So I figured I would go ahead and do a non-baking related post today and instead showcase my little boys nursery and all the details that go along with it! This is honestly my absolute favorite room in our house. The fun patterns and bright colors bring me so much joy and definitely bring a smile to Sam's face every time he is in his room! I can't believe he will be ONE at the end of March. Boy how time sure does fly.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of Sam's lime, turquoise and orange nursery! It truly is a mix of old and new pieces, with a modern twist and I just love how everything came together. My goal was to create a room that reflected both mine and Randolph's personalities. I wanted a unique space, something that felt like it was created with lots of love and DIY projects. Since we live in the south and Randolph LOVES to be on the water..he will fish and go crabbing any free chance he can get I wanted to add a small touch of things that Randolph loves to do and can't wait to share with Sam some day in his room. So the crab accents in the picture frames and pillow and the fishing pole lamp turned out to be absolutely perfect.
