Wow how the time has flown by since a year ago when I first started this blog to track my baking & decorating adventures. I really had no clue what a blog even was until I stumbled on to Bakerella's site and my eyes were opened to a whole new world of baking, decorating & photographing. Not long after finding Bakerella I discovered the amazing dessert tables of Amy Atlas, talk about some remarkable sugar displays! These two ladies have absolutely changed my world and inspired me to follow my true passion for creativity, baking and bringing happiness to others through my sweet confections!
So on the 1st anniversary of my blog I'm excited to share with you a fabulous new cake recipe and my very 1st GIVEAWAY! This is my way to say THANK YOU to all of my amazing readers that follow my blog regularly or even those of you that are new to this site. I hope you enjoy the recipes, photos and ideas that I have been sharing with you over this last year and I hope you continue to stick around for many more to come!
So let's eat some cake to celebrate!
I have created a cake like I have never seen before and it enormous and delicious! A few months ago I made some Neapolitan Cupcakes so I decided to take this cupcake idea a little bit further and create a 3-layer strawberry, vanilla and chocolate cake! We are talking about 3 cake & 3 icing flavors all layered together into one cake. Do you think you can handle this? So for those of you that often crave something both chocolate and vanilla or something with a hint of fruit...this cake is the ultimate solution because you can have all those flavors in one bite!
This recipe is definitely a little labor intensive since you are making 3 different cake and 3 different icing flavors, but one bite and you will realize it is definitely worth every second of the prep and extra dirty dishes to make this delicious 3-striped cake!

Congratulations on one year! Your cake looks super yummy! Can't wait to try it. My favorite cake flavor? Definately chocolate. While I LOVE all cake flavors....seriously.....chocolate has to be my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I am already a follower, and my favorite cake flavor is vanilla ~ and as simple as that may sound finding a good vanilla cake is not so easy ;)
ReplyDeleteI love POUND CAKE but I don't know if that counts so I'll say Strawberry cake. YUM! I think it is because it is pink.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great year! Congrats Lauren-and thanks for the BEST SHOWER CAKE EVER!!!!!
I would have to say chocolate cake would be my favorite. I LOVE chocolate sooo much. =)
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to say that I thought I signed up to be a follower yesterday but I didn't get a notification of this new posting (like Emily normally does) so please sign me up since I obviously can't figure it out. Second, I love the idea of stacking the different cake flavors because I'm definitely one of those people that likes both yellow and chocolate cake, but not really mixed together as marbled, so this is a great idea! I can't wait to start getting all your posts although it really distracts Emily and I from working so we might have to control ourselves!! :) Tell Tillman that Hoosier says hi!
ReplyDeleteOops...forgot to tell you that my favorite flavor is yellow butter cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteI know it's generic, but I LOVE chocolate cake!
Congratulations on hitting your one year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI would say my favorite flavor of cake would have to be yellow...with chocolate icing!!!! Kind of boring, but I love it!
Congratulations on your one-year anniversary. My favorite cake is any one that you make and I don't have to clean up the mess. Keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteI love vanilla cupcakews with buttercream frosting!!!! I am also a follower!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea for a cake! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCame across your recipe and turned it in to mini cupcakes for my daughter's 1st birthday - each makes about 72 mini cupcakes!
ReplyDeletethe cakes are all fabulous recipes - they taste like the packet cakes except without that weird packet cake flavour, great texture and flavour, spongy and moist, I'm so glad I found a recipe I can keep making over and over!
