Honey Cupcakes with Honey Cream Cheese Frosting & a Giveaway!


Today is an exciting day for several reasons...

1.It's the first day of Summer...YEAH!
2.I've got a new cupcake recipe to share with you! YUM!
3.It's my debut over on Half Baked as a new blog contributor...WOW!

and...

4.I've got a GIVEAWAY for one lucky CIS reader!

So here we go,

First off, I want to say a HUGE thank you to Carrie at Half Baked for asking me to be a monthly contributor on her blog to share new cupcake recipes with all her readers! The day I received her email I was both shocked and excited! Shocked, that out of all the bloggers out there, especially cupcake bloggers, that she chose me to contribute to her blog. WOW, what an honor! And excited because Half Baked is truly one of my all time favorite cake blogs! It was one of the first blogs I ever started following and one that I am always eager to check out each day to see what new cakes Carrie will feature. She truly has an eye for all the new cake trends and showcases some of the most gorgeous cakes I have ever seen! So thank you Carrie for this opportunity, I am truly grateful!

So to kick off summer I came up with some Honey Cupcakes with Honey Cream Cheese frosting, which were inspired after sampling some local honey from our farmer's market!

    One of my favorite things to do is go to the beach!! And fortunately I'll be going for a mini-vacation in about a month. I can't wait.

    Fave summertime activity...planning my kids bday parties on our lake and finding great inspiration on sites like yours! We don't go on a summer vacation b/c we live on a lake in Michigan and like to savor as much of our short summer as possible:) Tammy/ blondieskitchen

    Ooh love the giveaway! Congrats on the guest post, I'm loving the photos. I'm on vacation now visiting my parents in Upstate New York and we are also going to Cape Cod and up near the Thousand Islands (lots of food adventures)!

    Favorite summertime activity is drinking cold adult beverages by the pool, lake or ocean but unfortunately they have to be non-alcoholic this summer!

    I went to San Diego for the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon at the beginning of the month for a sister race!!! So much fun!!

    We vacation every July in Virginia Beach VA...eat loads of seafood. This year we are also going to visit Charlotte NC next week. One of our favorite summer pasttimes is to partake in summer festivals and farmers'markets.

    I live in the UK so unfortunately cant enter your giveaway but I just wanted to comment to say how utterly gorgeous both your photography and cupcakes look and i will definitely be trying out the recipe as i am a honey addict! we make our own from hives in our garden and this looks like the perfect way to showcase the sweet yumminess :)

    My favorite summer activity is to spend as much time as possible with my four daughters, going anywhere we can from the beaches of NC, to Tybee Island in GA, we like to fit in a trip to an amusement park as well!!!!! But the best part of summer activities for us is all of the icecream we constantly eat, and sweet watermelon that we simply can not get enough of these hot days!!!!!I just LOVE summer!!!!!!

    While I'll be working most of summer (I'm a baker/decorator), I'll be making it out to Long Island's Robert Moses and Jones Beaches and to the North Fork Wineries. Also hopefully to Boston for whale watching!
